Sintered Metal Iron Powder Coil Housing

Iron Powder Coil Housing for Electronic Component
This P/M part was fabricated by Colorado Sintered Metals as a casting replacement to a customer in Midwest. Through our powder metal compaction process, we produce about 125,000 coil housings per year with a production lead time of 6 weeks. The P/M manufacturing process also provides the necessary magnetic properties required of the parts and enables us to maintain consistent part quality. Secondary operations were limited to vibratory deburring and powder coating. Powder compaction dies for the coil housing were specially built in-house to exact customer specifications. Manufactured from MPIF FY-4500 Iron Powder, the parts have a density of 6.75 gms/cc and a surface roughness of 32 RMS.
