Powdered Metal Stainless Steel Brake Cam
(Click on thumbnail to enlarge) |
We manufacture this brake cam at our plant in Pomona, CA specifically for cable safety brakes used in a pallet lift system. As a lower cost alternative to conventional machining and laser cutting, powdered metal compaction and sintering are now used to produce these brake cams. The pressing tools were completely designed in-house at Precision Powdered Metal Parts, Inc. Developed on our own 100-ton presses, the parts are produced to a close tolerance of +/- 0.002" at densities of 6.6 gms/cc. Vibratory deburring are used to break sharp edges and produce a uniform material finish. The brake cam measured 1.750" in length and 1.640" in width. We typically produce 5,000 of these brake cams per order and deliver them to the customer's location in Texas.
